The Monaghan Covid Community Response Forum says the vast majority of the population is doing the right thing, with only a small minority not doing so.
Senior government officials met this morning to discuss moving Cavan, Monaghan, and Donegal to Level 4 restrictions and it's likely that a full cabinet meeting will be called later after the Northern Ireland lockdown announcement
Monaghan has the third highest 14-day incidence rate in the country, while Cavan has the highest.
The Forum was updated on the evolving situation in Monaghan by the HSE, the Gardai, and County Council.
In a Statement to Shannonside Northern Sound News, the Monaghan Community Response Forum said the evidence is that the vast majority are doing the right thing and abiding by HSE guidelines, with only a small minority not doing so.
The Forum heard that the HSE test operation recently increased capacity and hours of operation and is managing the demand for tests.
Testing is also taking place at food production plants and residential care centres on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile, the Cavan Community Response Forum says on-going discussions are continuing and a full meeting will take place this week.
