Monaghan County Council has won a "Future Tech Challenge" award.
The Future Tech Challenge is a pilot competition between the Irish public service and seeks to solve public service challenges by encouraging technology adoption.
The winners secure a prize of services amounting to the value of €100,000 with an industry leader, and work with that industry partner to develop their winning idea.
Monaghan County Council, in partnership with several other local authorities including Cavan, Leitrim, and Longford, won in the "Cloud Computing" category for "MyCoCo".
MyCoCo allows citizens and businesses to request a service, make a payment and track its progress without the need of using paper-based forms.
Monaghan County Council will now team up with industry leader Amazon Web Services and paid tribute to its Head of Information Systems, Carmel O'Hare, following the award win.
