Monaghan County Council had to pay out on 42 insurance claims made about potholes in the county last year.
Meanwhile, 14 settlements were made in the first quarter of this year, with 23 claims also being registered.
Last year, the Council paid out almost €13,500 in settlements for damage caused by potholes, and over €8,200 was required for 15 claims settlements in the third quarter of 2019.
The Council has already paid out over €3,500 on 14 settlements in the first quarter of 2020.
