Monaghan County council is launching a community wetlands network as part of heritage week.
This year their events were not physical events, but instead took the form of projects that would promote and highlight the heritage sites and locations in the county.
There are a number of podcasts available online and on various streaming platforms about the heritage in Monaghan including the stories behind place names and artwork on headstones.
One of the main projects involves developing a community and mentoring programme around the wetlands locally.
Heritage Officer Shirley Clerkin is hopeful that people will sign up and get involved:
