Monaghan councillors are demanding that Eirgrid stop all on-going work on local lands.
Soil Drilling Survey Works have been taking place at Latnakelly,Annyalla,which are said to be unsupervised by the appropriate agencies, including the Local Authority.
Fianna Fáil’s Seamus Coyle raised the issue at the recent council meeting stating the company was in breach of all regulations and their commitments to An Bord Pleannala, under Health & Safety.

He says that while the landowner has granted the company access to the land this shows a complete disregard for the community, and the welfare of nearby animals.
Councillor Coyle called on all local Oireachtas members to call for an immediate ceasing of operations:
