A Monaghan councillor says Lough Muckno developments will benefit the people of Castleblayney for "years to come."
During a recent Monaghan County Council meeting, it was confirmed that plans for the Monaghan site have progressed further.
Speaking on the matter, Castleblayney Councillor, Aidan Campbell, "welcomed" the news.
He stated that the next part of the feasibility study will seek environmental and planning consultants to undertake an assessment of the "whole concept" which was proposed in the recent visionary report.
Councillor Campbell highlighted how important Lough Muckno is to the people of Castleblayney and also to the environment.
While the local attraction has sat idol for a number of years, Cllr Campbell believes it will "be great" to see the fruition of plans, adding that future developments will be an "asset" to the town.
