A Monaghan councillor has urged people of all ages to 'get out and vote'
That's according to Sinn Fein representative Cathy Bennett who highlighted that there is a new registration process available to people online.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Bennett revealed that the process has been difficult for people in the past, however voters can now 'hop online' in a 'very easy way' and register using their PPS number and Eir Code.
A voting card will then be issued in the post.
In terms of an election, Cllr Bennett says it's important to encourage as many people to get out and use their vote, particular women who fought so long in this country to get a vote.
She added that people don't realize how much they can change by voting and urged those to sign up now via www.checktheregister.
