A Monaghan Councillor has invited Garth Brooks to visit the home of Irish Country Music.
In between playing five sell-out shows in Croke Park, the country music star has been taking in some of the tourist hotspots during his downtime.
Being the home of Big Tom and Paddy Cole among others, Castleblayney is known as the 'Nashville of Ireland' and local Fianna Fail Councillor Aoife McCooey says it's only right that Garth Brooks comes to visit while he's over.
She's started a #BrooksToBlayney campaign online, and hopes the council will formally invite him too.
Approximately a third of county Monaghan bought tickets to see the 'Friends in Low Places' star perform in Dublin, and Aoife says he'll always be welcome here.
