A Monaghan councillor has described the current controversy surrounding RTE as a "circus."
According to Cllr PJ O'Hanlon, everybody involved in this "saga" needs to "sort the issues out" and "move on."
When asked about the current situation facing RTE on the Joe Finnegan Show, Cllr O'Hanlon said that everyone is "afraid to look" at the "serious issues" facing the national broadcaster.
Cllr O'Hanlon believes that with so many atrocities happening around the world, RTE must not be at the front and centre of concerns and the news.
He has called for the situation to "sorted in a professional manner" so that people at the broadcaster can get on with the work that they are being "well-paid to do":
