A Monaghan councillor has called for special funding to be provided to the Local Authority for additional electrical charging points in the county.
At a recent County Council meeting, Seamus Coyle expressed concern that there is currently no provision for an electrical charging point at the new car park at the Courtyard in Ballybay.
Councillor Coyle added that there is a lack of charging points right across the county.
Monaghan Chief Executive, Eamon O'Sullivan, told the meeting that the costs of installation and operation, which falls on the Local Authority, is "exorbitant" and "very prohibitive".
