It's emerged independent Councillor in Monaghan Paudge Connolly was in Spain eight days before he attended the controversial Oireachtas Golf Society dinner.
The administrator of McCafferty's of Cabo Roig Golf Society confirmed to Northern Sound News that Councillor Connolly played with the group in Alicante on August 11th.
He also played with the same society at the same course on August 4th.
Spain currently isn't one of the countries on the government green list, meaning passengers returning to Ireland from there are required to restrict their movements for 14 days.
Councillor Connolly was unavailable when contacted by Shannonside Northern Sound for comment on his attendance in Spain.
Monaghan Councillor Paudge Connolly who attended the event, has apologised to his constituents, but says that social distancing and Covid-19 precautions were adhered to.
He said the event had been organised as it seemed there had been an improvement in Covid-19 in Ireland.
Speaking on The Joe Finnegan Show this morning - before news of his trip to Spain emerged - the former TD said that he "will mull upon" resigning and will have no issue doing so if there's a call for it.
But he said he won't be resigning yet:
