January the 1st next is the deadline for submissions in respect of the Residential Zoned Land Tax and land in Co Monaghan included could subsequently be liable for an annual tax as a result.
The process to identify land to which the tax applies is now underway and the tax will be payable from 2024. The move aims to increase housing supply and ensure regeneration of vacant and idle lands in urban locations.
Locations have already been identified for housing and have benefitted from investment to support delivery. The Draft Map in Co Monaghan is on public display at the Planning Offices, Dublin Street, Monaghan, Monday to Friday 9.15am-1pm and 1.30pm-5pm.
