A Monaghan businessman suggests "people aren't interested in working anymore."
Val Mohan, who is the owner of Greenfingers Garden Centre, made the decision to cease the landscaping side of his business due to his limited workforce.
He says it has been "very difficult" to recruit staff, particularly since the Covid pandemic.
As a result, the Monaghan native has had to "turn down work" on a daily basis, a situation which he described as "very frustrating."
Speaking to Northern Sound, he claims there is a pandemic starting all over the country, due to the lack of laborers.
Mr Mohan says he does not understand what happened or where everyone went to.
He added that it was "soul destroying" after 21 years of building-up a business, to then see it parked.
