Monaghan businesses are being encouraged to sign up for the "Come Back Cocooners" campaign - an initiative aimed at bringing vulnerable and elderly people back into town centres.
The County Council's Age Friendly Programme will support local businesses in increasing football while helping people who have been cocooning to safely return to shopping.
The campaign will see businesses putting in place age-friendly initiatives and promotions during October to encourage elderly and vulnerable people to return in a safe manner.
Age Friendly Programme Manager Bernie Bradley says cocooners stand to greatly benefit from the social interactions that come with a return to the shops.
