'No business can wait to see what happens, we have to take measures into our own hands and mitigate some of the uncertainties that are out there'

A Monaghan manufacturing business has described Budget 2023 a step in the right direction.

Martin McVicar who is the co-founder of one of Ireland's leading manufacturers Combilift, revealed energy costs for the business during the month of September will be at least €50,000 more than previous months.

Despite this, Mr McVicar says he is "confident" Combilift will at least qualify for the €10,000 per month energy supports as a result of the budget.
