A Monaghan-based home care service provider has announced it's to invest €1.5 million into its care teams across the country.
'Irish HomeCare' says the investment is 'part of its commitment to ensure the financial wellbeing of its staff".
The investment is focused on frontline home care workers who visit the homes of the elderly and people with disabilities to provide specialised support and care services.
It will provide enhancements to pay rates and travel expenses.
John Florence, the Chief Executive Officer with Irish HomeCare, said the investment will ensure staff receive "the best terms and conditions for their employment".
Meanwhile, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said the investment is "recognition that better terms and conditions will be needed to recruit and retain staff in the care economy".
