A Monaghan based barber is encouraging people to seek help if they are suffering with addiction or mental health issues.
Gerard Earley, originally from Omagh but working in Monaghan Town for a number of years has spoken out about his own struggles with alcoholism a year after beginning his recovery.
He admitted himself to Cuan Mhuire in Newry in August 2019, when mental health issues saw him depend on alcohol daily to cope with anxiety and loneliness.
A year on he says life has dramatically improved, and he has become a better person.
