A number of MMR vaccination clinics will be taking place in Cavan and Monaghan in the coming days. The HSE are advising that two doses of the vaccine will give lifetime protection against Measles. MMR vaccines are available free of charge from GPs to all groups, but primarily to those under 18 years, and from HSE community clinics for eligible people.
Local clinics will take place in the Ballinagh Health Centre in Cavan on Thursday August 22nd from 3pm to 5pm. A second clinic will take place in the Community Vaccination Centre on St Davnets Campus, Co Monaghan on Tuesday August 27th from 10am to 12pm. Those eligible are those born in Ireland from January 1st 1978 and do not have evidence of two MMR vaccines or, if born outside of Ireland and do not have evidence of two MMR vaccines at any age.
