The young County Cavan girl who went missing while on a family holiday to Disneyland in Paris has made contact with her family.
17 year old Amber Victoria Palm was last seen leaving the hotel complex she and her family were staying at in the company of a male.
Friends of the 17 year old say the teenager had been talking to online for a number of weeks prior to her disappearance. Her distraught mother Mactalene made an emotional appeal for information on Shannonside Northern earlier this week.
Amber's Mother confirmed last night that the 17 year old had made contact following her disappearance on the 7th of August. The last contact with her friends that Amber had was the 10th of August and her mother confirmed in an interview with the station earlier this week that was the last known contact.
The Palm family are originally from South Africa and have been living in Castlerahan for the past year.
Amber was due to return to St Oliver's Post Primary in Oldcastle to begin her Leaving Cert year. Her mother has been speaking with the French authorities over the past 24 hours to try to organise Amber's safe passage home.
Amber's mam described what was meant to be a highly anticipated family holiday which had transpired into a nightmare. The palm family also wanted to express their gratitude to family and friends and to the media for highlighting their plight for the return of their daughter.
They hope to be reunited with Amber in the coming days.
