The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O'Brien, visited a number of sites in Co Cavan today.
Speaking to Northern Sound in Cavan town earlier today, Minister O'Brien said he was "delighted to be back" after attending a range of visits across the county.
Speaking at the handing over of 12 units at Drumalee Manor, under the Cavan Town Housing Scheme, Minister O'Brien spoke about the future of social housing across the county.
The Minister acknowledged the difficulty that locals across both Cavan and Monaghan are facing when trying to find a safe and secure place to live.
However, he described the upcoming 'First Home Equity Scheme' which will be launched at the start of July this year, as a "game changer," adding that his department is "focused" on the delivery of social homes on a scale that has "never been seen before."
