Over €1.5 million has been announced for local projects under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
Fourteen projects across the two counties are receiving funding.
Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys this morning announced €807,000 (€806,543) for seven projects in Monaghan.
Among them is €200,000 for works on the public realm in Clones.
Another €200,000 will see the undergrounding of overhead wires in Emyvale, the upgrading of footpaths and the installation of LED streetlights.
Projects in Carrickmacross, Doohamlet, Inniskeen, Latton and Clontibret.
€704,000 (€704,075) has been allocated to seven projects in Cavan.
Belturbet receives just under €200,000 for the development of the marina and an extension to the Youth Hub.
Cootehill, Ballyjamesduff, Virginia and Bailieborough are all receiving €100,000 each for various works, including town enhancements and the upgrading of lakeside facilities in Virginia and Bailieborough.
Arva and Shercock also receiving funding.
The Rural and Community Development Minister has praised local communities for the resilience they've shown during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Monaghan
Carrickmacross: €98,261 to fund public amenity enhancements, including provision of a dog walking park, two biodiversity garden parks and the provision of seating and landscaping.
Clones: €200,000 to fund public realm enhancement including public lighting and pedestrian works, car park upgrade and diversion of cabling
Clontibret: €81,315 for the installation of a footpath and public lighting.
Doohamlet: €100,000 to fund public realm enhancement including the upgrade of the carpark, provision of street lighting, and works at the community park.
Emyvale - €200,000: Public realm enhancements including undergrounding of overhead cables and upgrading of footpath with LED public lighting.
Inniskeen - €26,967: Bike Rental Scheme to operate from the Patrick Kavanagh Centre.
Latton - €100,000: The provision of new footpath and public lighting.
Cavan
Belturbet: €199,800 for the development of the marina as well as to fund phase two of the extension of the Youth Hub.
Cootehill: €100,000 to improve access for pedestrians as well as other town enhancements.
Virginia: €100,000 for the development of the lakeshore area, including linking the lakeshore to the town centre via a footpath.
Bailieborough: €100,000 to upgrade the lakeside public amenity facilities, including an education facility, nature reserve and public amenity and recreation space.
Ballyjamesduff: €100,000 to connect the Nun’s walk biodiversity corridor at the Museum to the Town Centre.
Arva: €54,727 for enhancement works to the bus shelter, murals and facade painting, as well as resurfacing of the car park around the Market House.
Shercock: €49,548 to upgrade the town through the installation of outdoor seating, a sculpture, bus shelter and other improvements
