Cavan Volunteer Centre's new website, www.volunteercavan.ie was launched today by Minister of State Joe O'Brien. After its official opening in November and the new branding of Volunteer Ireland, the Centre revamped up its website, making it easier to navigate; more user-friendly; with updated content; and improved security.
The new website will make attracting, training and championing volunteers easier and will become an invaluable resource for the community, and the people in the area."
Minister O'Brien said the new website is an essential tool which will be used by the Volunteer Centre to connect Cavan volunteers with the organisations that need their help.
He added, that volunteering empowers people and provides them with the opportunity and framework to make a difference in their own areas." Every community relies on the commitment and contribution of volunteers; from sporting pursuits to TidyTowns to community care, many people's lives are made better as a direct result of volunteers. I am proud that my Department is to the fore of supporting volunteering and implementing the strategy.
"The ongoing implementation of the National Volunteering Strategy is promoting awareness and appreciation of volunteering, and putting in place stronger structures for volunteers and organisations. We are also working to develop greater diversity in volunteering opportunities and volunteers themselves," the Minister said.
