The Minister of State with responsibility for Sports paid a visit to Cavan over the weekend to visit clubs and groups that have benefitted from recent funding.
In February, €4.8 million in funding was announced for Cavan and Monaghan sports clubs under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
Cavan benefitted from funding of €2.6 million, while Monaghan was awarded €2.2 million.
Minister Jack Chambers visited several locations to see how the money has been spent and how local people have been engaging with sports.
Local Deputy Niamh Smyth accompanied Minister Chambers on his visit.
She told Northern Sound that he was presented with plans for a Breffni Park Sports Campus, which the Minister was "very receptive to":
