Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has officially opened €1 million worth of projects across Monaghan today.
Minister Humphreys began the day in Scotshouse, where she opened the new Community Park, which received almost €200,000 under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
The Minister went on to open Ballybay Park, Rossmore trail and Lough na Glack trail, which all received funding under the Government's ambitious rural development policy.
The final stop of the day was the official opening of a new visitor experience at Carrickmacross Workhouse.
The Minister said that more funding announcements would be made in the coming months, and assured locals that Carrickmacross would continue to be supported by her Department.
