A three-year action plan to boost Ireland's island communities is being launched today. The Minister for Rural and Community Development will outline 80 commitments to support employment, remote working and boost tourism.
Minister Heather Humphreys says the ‘Our Living Islands' will also improve housing, health and education for those living on our islands. "It's all about improving services in health and education. It's about delivering high-speed broadband and further developing our outdoor amenities which will in turn increase tourism.
"And, it's about ensuring our islands has proper infrastructure in terms of water, roads and piers," she added.
