Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys and Minister of State, Ossian Smyth, hosted the Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce National Stakeholder Forum earlier this week.
The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders across the public, private and community sectors to discuss issues relating to broadband, mobile phone coverage and connectivity.
There was a particular focus on the importance of connectivity in the regions and how it can be used to support innovation, as well as its benefit to elderly citizens.
On the day, Minister Humphreys pointed to the positive impact that Remote Working is having in communities across the country.
She added that remote and blended working had become the new norm and her Department had embraced that by building the National Hub Network connecting over 300 Remote Working Hubs across Ireland including in Cavan and Monaghan.
