The Justice Minister says she's glad former Fine Gael leader Alan Dukes has apologised for comments about people who live on the border. He had said they were quicker to resort to violence than other people in the Republic during a documentary about businessman Sean Quinn.
Mr Dukes has since apologised - with Minister Heather Humphreys criticising him for the remarks about people in her constituency. "I just want to say they endured and they stood against the violence of terrorists and criminals for many, many decades.
"So, I'm glad he has apologised for it and I think we can draw a line under that now," the Minister added.
