Minister Heather Humphreys said she is committed to delivering a special school for Monaghan.
But the local Minister did say in the Dáíl that she can't just "click her fingers and make it happen". Responding to Mary Lou McDonald who raised the issue yesterday, Minister Humphreys said there is a process here and right well you know that too deputy.
Deputy McDonald said parents across the country have to fight for their children, but those in Monaghan have to fight harder than most as the county does not have a special school. The local representative took aim at the Sinn Fein leader saying that she is more than familiar with what is going on in Monaghan, adding that the county is now being considered as a location for a special school.
Speaking in the Dail, Minister Humphreys said a review is currently under way and it will complete its work by late autumn. She said she was committed to the people of Cavan and Monaghan and committed to the delivery of a special school.
