The Rural and Community Development Minister says she hopes more funding can be allocated under the Local Improvement Scheme this year.
Heather Humphreys today announced over half a million euro for works on non-public roads in local areas.
The LIS scheme allows works to be carried out to improve access to sites like rural homes and farms and outdoor amenities like lakes, rivers and mountains.
Cavan is receiving the most locally at just under €290,000, with Monaghan getting €270,000.
The local counties have seen an increase of €20,000 in their allocation this year when compared to 2020.
Monaghan last year received €250,000, with Cavan's allocation being €269,254
