Minister of State at Department of Agriculture, Martin Heydon is visiting the Northern Sound region today. Minister Heydon is to meet with members of Monaghan IFA as well as farmers at Ballybay Mart. The Fine Gael representative is also scheduled to visit Cavan Town as well as Mastek - Agri Machinery which is based in Cootehill. Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Heydon said that today's visit is all about engaging with the public.
He also highlighted the importance of meeting with local farmers and those in rural communities who can use today as an opportunity to speak out about the challenges they are facing. Minister Heydon who was elected to the Dáil on the same day as Minister Heather Humphreys back in 2011 praised her work over the years, adding that she will leave an "amazing legacy behind her."
