Minister Heather Humphreys says she has every confidence in former Finance Minister, Paschal Donohoe, who is preparing for questions in the Dail on Tuesday.
It follows the discovery of matters that have now arisen over his 2020 general election expenses.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Humphreys said, Paschal Donohoe is "an honourable, hardworking and decent minister" who had contributed hugly to this country.
She pointed to Sinn Fein's approach to the situation, and highlighted how 'due process' would take its course, regardless.
The Minister added, she would rather see the steady hands of Mr Donohoe on the tills of this country than those of Pearce Doherty.
