Local Minister Heather Humphreys has been honoured at a recent event held in the Iontas Theatre in Castleblayney.
The Minister for Social Protection and Minister for Rural and Community Development will soon part ways with her political career with the new Government to return to the Dail on Wednesday.
Minister Humphreys was a guest of honour earlier this week where she joined over 70 women with WCI Blayney Blades to come together to celebrate Mná na hÉireann.
This was Minister Humphreys' last event with Blayney Blades as her role as Minister.
The local women's group paid tribute to Minister Humphreys who they say has been a "huge supporter" of Blayney Blades over the last number of years.
The group praised her dedication to speak at events, her support with funding and most importantly her clear understanding of how difficult it is to deliver all they do from a rural perspective.
