The Agriculture Minister says he's confident robust measures have been put in place by the meat industry to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
A number of outbreaks were reported in the sector in the first two waves of the pandemic in Ireland as it continued operating throughout the lockdowns.
It comes as the British Meat Processors Association claims one in 10 meat processing staff in the UK are self-isolating as cases rise there.
Measures like regular antigen testing have been introduced here to track cases and prevent spread.
