The Minister of Justice has been called on to provide funding for a domestic violence refuge in Cavan and Monaghan.
There have long been calls for a refuge to be provided as women and children in the area must travel to Drogheda or Navan to find a safe space.
Local TDs Pauline Tully and Niamh Smyth raised the issue during statements in the Dáil yesterday.
