The Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue has announced funding of €23,000 for Monaghan County Council to develop agri-tourism in the county.
Speaking on the Wider View this afternoon, the Minister said the funding was part of a wider national allocation of €300,000.
He highlighted how Monaghan was a "great example" of the production of top quality, nutritious food.
He added the funding would also help local businesses, farmers, producers, and artisans to develop their products and services.
The Minister is currently launching the Summer of Food initiative at the Market House in Monaghan town.
