14 counties will be under weather warnings from five o'clock this evening. A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Kerry and West Galway, and ends at five o'clock in the morning.
A rain alert for Cavan, Donegal, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Connacht expires at six in the morning.
Met Éireann says there's the potential for localised flooding as well as difficult driving conditions. Forecaster Liz Walsh says there could be "damaging" winds overnight.
