The two men, aged 54 and 40, arrested as part of the investigation into the seizure of 120kg of cocaine at Lough Owel in Co Westmeath have been charged.
They will appear before Mullingar District Court at 11am this morning.
The drugs, with an estimated street value of €8.4m were flown by light aircraft from France to a commericial airfield in Co Longford.
The Sunday Independent is reporting today that the plane is owned by a syndicate of eight flying enthusiasts based in Longford.
Investigating officers believe it was leased innocently by its owners to criminal elements.
And, the Kinahan crime cartel is suspected of being behind the cocaine trafficking run.
Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, homes were searched in Naas, Co Kildare and in Waterford City.
