The Egyptian authorities are being praised for their response to the case of a Co Monaghan woman who has been granted full custody of her two sons by prosecutors in Egypt.
37 year old Mandy Kelly from Monaghan has been campaigning since 2022 for the return of her children five year old Zayn and 3 year old Kareem.
Mandy has won a landmark legal challenge in Cairo in recent days to allow her children be returned to her following their abduction by their father 28 months ago. However, a police search is underway as the boys and their father are missing along with some of his family members.
Dr Míceál O'Hurley who is a senior mediator with Munster Mediation says there's only one person to blame for their disappearance. Mr O'Hurley says Egyptian authorities have been very helpful and very supportive towards Mandy's case.
