A masterplan has been unveiled for the Dun a Ri Forest Park in Kingscourt.
The masterplan was commissioned by Cavan County Council on behalf of the Cavan local area group as part of Coillte.
Over 630,000 euros has been approved over the past few years from local Minister Heather Humphreys' department for the County Cavan Forest Park.

Following a public consultation from 379 people in the area that uses the park on a regular basis the long term plan was devised.
Local Councillor Clifford Kelly says the investment is very welcome in the Dun an RI.
Cllr Kelly says the area is very lucky to have one of the finest forest parks in the country and he says he is very excited by the future plans for the popular amenity.
