A man involved in the long-running dispute between the directors of Mannok and the family of Bernard McGovern is to stand trial for perjury and false representation charges.
Gareth Lunney, is a nephew of Kevin Lunney, the Mannok director who was kidnapped and tortured in 2019.
Later the same year, Bernard McGovern, attacked Kevin Lunney and another Mannok director, Dara O'Reilly, in a Cavan café.
During a contested hearing last year, Patrick McGovern accepted being extremely upset at the sentence handed down to his younger brother Bernard and had gone to Lunney's property and damaged a door.
In that court case, Gareth Lunney produced an invoice for £500 for repairs to the door at his property, however, issues arose over Lunney's evidence when it emerged he had allegedly misled the court in respect of how the damage was caused and the cost of repairs.
During a robust cross-examination, McGovern's defence put it to Lunney he was lying under oath.
Lunney eventually accepted the repairs on the invoice were never carried out and the invoice was fraudulent. The actual cost of repairs was £98.
The PSNI subsequently cautioned Gareth Lunney on suspicion of perjury and making false representations.
The 36-year-old Derrylin man appeared in court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to both charges.
He was remanded on continuing bail to attend for trial on a date to be fixed next month.
