St Patrick’s College in Cavan has become the first cross-border school to join the leading building and packaging materials manufacturer’s award-winning Educational Partnerships Programme.
Mannok launched a new partnership with the college which is now the fourth school to partner with the company, and the first from the Republic of Ireland. The Mannok Futures Digital Innovation Hub will focus on providing the school’s students with career insights and blended learning opportunities in the area of Computer Science.
The five-year partnership includes a financial commitment from Mannok that will allow the College to invest in its Computer Science facilities. A comprehensive programme of practical learning opportunities, which will bring real-life learning into the classroom will help to ensure the curriculum is closely aligned to industry needs.
Guest speaker on the day was Deputy Brendan Smith and he pointed to the importance of Mannok to the local area and how pleased he was that the large company has partnered with a school in Co Cavan. "I’m delighted St. Patrick’s College have this new partnership with Mannok.
"Mannok is a hugely important employer in our county, it’s a company that all of us who live in Co Cavan are proud of. I want to wish Mannock continued success in business and with the great employment it provides across so many counties in this area.
"I am delighted Mannock has chosen Cavan as its first partnership school in this State. I have no doubt that the school, the students, and Mannok will derive great benefits from this partnership going forward," he added.
