A man who killed an innocent father of three in County Monaghan has been released from jail having served less than four years behind bars.
Vytautas Racys assaulted Seamus Bell in an unprovoked attack on Main Street in Carrickmacross four years ago leaving the 35 year old father in a coma for five months before he died in hospital.
The Sunday Independent is revealing today that the Lithuanian national has been released from prison having served just three years and nine months of the five year sentence that was handed down to Racy at the time.
Mr. Bell was out in Carrickmacross on the 20th of January celebrating his twin daughters christening when the unprovoked attack occurred.
Speaking after Racy was jailed in 2019 the family of Seamus Bell released a statement to say they were upset with the shortness of the five year sentence and that they hoped the sentence would have given them closure but instead left the grieving family of Mr. Bell in further turmoil.
