Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's International Policing Unit have extradited a 38 year old man to the Republic of Ireland today.
He was due to stand trial for an assault committed in the County Cavan area in 2019, and was arrested in Fermanagh on Monday 16th October.
An Garda Síochána told Northern Sound the matter is "now before the courts".
The man was detained by virtue of an international warrant by officers from the International Policing Unit in Fermanagh on 16th October.
Sergeant Davey from the International Policing Unit said: "The Police Service of Northern Ireland has a clear message that there is nowhere to hide in Northern Ireland and that we will actively pursue all wanted persons believed to be in this jurisdiction."
