A man is being questioned about an incident in Co Monaghan, which sparked a media blackout. Gardaí sought reporting restrictions while specialist officers and negotiators dealt with the situation near Clontibret.
It began yesterday afternoon when concerns were raised about the safety of a man in his 30's. The house at the centre of the incident is still sealed off this morning while investigations continue. The man detained by Gardaí can be held for up to three days.
