Martin O'Malley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man who lost his life in a house fire in Moynalty earlier this week has been named as Martin O'Malley. Mr O'Malley, who was in his 60s, was pronounced dead by emergency crews who attended the house fire after the alarm was raised at around 9am on Monday. The fire was extinguished by the local fire service and a technical examination carried out.

Martin O'Malley worked as a location scout on the 90s hit Irish movie 'The Committments' based on the book of the same name by Rodddy Doyle. He also had a cameo role as a priest in the movie. The Dubliner had been living in Moynalty for about the past 10 years.
