A man in Belcoo has lost part of his ear during an assault. Two men have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack. Around 12:10pm on Saturday afternoon, detectives were told the man was found in a premises on the Main Street of the town which neighbours Blacklion on the Cavan border.
Detectives found he had a cut above one of his eyes and part of his ear was missing. The man reported that he had been assaulted by two men. He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries. Officers subsequently arrested a man aged in his 20s on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault, criminal damage, assault on police and disorderly behaviour.
A second man, aged in his 30s, was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a Class B controlled drug, and possession of a Class C controlled drug. Anyone who might have any information is asked to contact the PSNI or Crimestoppers.
