The man killed in an explosion in Co Donegal yesterday has been named locally. Stephen Montgomery is understood to have been clearing rock with machinery in the Bunbeg area yesterday afternoon, when he was hit by a rock.
Emergency services rushed to the scene - including the Defence Forces' bomb disposal team. Stephen Maguire, Editor of the Donegal Daily, says Mr Montgomery had strong roots to the area.
"He is a very well -known married man with one grown up child and has a lot of family in the area. There is a sense of disbelief; people still wondering what happened here because nobody really knows what happened only that, unfortunately, Mr Montgomery is dead this morning," he added.
