A man in his 20s has died in a road crash in Co Meath in the early hours of this morning. The crash occurred at around 2.20am at Boolies, Oldcastle near the Cavan border.
The man, who was travelling alone, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road is closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any road users in the area who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), to contact Kells Garda Station on 046 9280820, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
The man's death brings to 15 the number of people killed on Irish roads since the beginning of the year.
