A man in Newtownbutler in Co Fermanagh, has been issued with a fixed penalty notice after being observed on an "adapted bicycle".
During a patrol on Saturday morning on the Clones Road, Newtownbutler, a Neighbourhood Policing Team came across the adapted bicycle.
It was fitted with an engine and therefore classified as a "mechanically propelled vehicle".
As a result of the modifications to the bike, the rider is required to have insurance and the relevant driving licence, which wasn't the case.
The male also lacked insurance, a helmet or a license, and was overtaking cars on the main road at speed.
Police in the North have reminded people to "fully research the rules of the road before using any vehicle you are unfamiliar with, or potentially face a day in court".
