Gardaí are looking at whether the man, who was 49 and originally from Latvia, died hours or even days before emergency services were called.

A man who was found dead in Lucan in Dublin over the weekend may have died a number of hours or days before he was discovered.

Gardaí are questioning a man in his 20s in connection with the assault. Tara Duggan reports: "Shortly after 8 o'clock yesterday morning gardaí were alerted to an incident at a house at Old Bridge Park in Lucan. A man in his 40s was found dead at the scene after being attacked.

"The Herald reports gardaí are looking at whether the man, who was 49 and originally from Latvia, died hours or even days before emergency services were called. A man in his 20s has been arrested, he remains in custody at a garda station in west Dublin."
